From the My Social Media page you can access your Seesmic, Twitter and other accounts. You can also post to Twitter
from the Network Homepage. In our Twitter Clubs you can find many additional applications for managing your
Twitter-account and from the My Apps page you can also install Twitter applications to display on your Personal Profile. When you write an update on your profile page you can choose to send it to Twitter and Facebook. When you toggle the boxes below your Update field the system will ask you to add your Twitter and Facebook accounts. You can also do this from your Settings page accesible from your Profile page or the top menu.

By following the My Business Profile link you reach a page where you can edit your own Business Profile. You can
customize it with your logo, your own website, an introductory text and many contact-details including a Google-map
but you can also choose to keep a more private Business Profile with only a selection of these options. Simply follow
the steps detailed on the page: make selections from the menu’s, toggle the boxes for different options and add text
in the text-boxes, agree to the terms and press submit.

Issues: If the page doesn’t appear or only a part of it is visible this is probably because you are not loggedin to
the network. Login first and then return to your Business Profile to edit it.

Logo doesn’t appear:

make sure to un-toggle the box next to it and if necessary refresh the page.

Webpage (image) doesn’t appear:

check the syntax of your entry and make sure it’s a valid internet-address.

No Google-map is generated:

try different address notations.

If you create your Business Profile more then 24 hours after you first created an account and Personal Profile in The
HOB.Biz network, some of your personal information, should be prefilled.

By following the HOB Shop links in the top menu under "Business" you enter the shop-owners section of our network. Here you can create a number
of online shops . You can manage these shops from your MyApps page too.

On the top right-hand side of the network homepage and also from your Personal Profile you can click “Settings”. By
doing so you reach the “My Settings” page. Choose “Email” (Settings) on the top left-hand side. You can now view a list
of types of messages you can receive from the network. Toggling the box next to each indicates you want to receive these
message types, untoggling prevents these types of messages from being sent to you. Dont forget to press “Save”in the
bottom right - hand side after making your selection.

It has been suggested by some that the name "The HOB.Biz" stands for "Hobbit", "HOB Goblin" or refers in some other way to litterature. Although amusing and worth considering, in fact the name arose from a much more practical consideration. Users of the original "The House Of Business Network" started to abbreviate this to "The HOB". This became a widespread practice. Since then we've acquired an equally practical and short domain name to match and have applied the use of the name to more services. Other amusing suggestions are that a "hob" is the central part of a wheel from which the spokes radiate outwards, a heating device or an abbreviation of "hobnobbing". Feel free to believe what you find most entertaining.

On many of our sites you will find images and other content will darken and display a "Share this" message on mouse-over. When you click the item you can share it. This is called Drag to Share. If an item is linked and you double click it the normal link will open. If you click it once the Share menu will appear.
